sales tax
A sales tax is added to all orders shipped in Maryland or the District of Columbia. No sales tax is charged when shipped from our Delaware location.

international orders
At this time, we do not accept orders from international customers who are shipping to addresses in the U.S. only. We also are unable to ship to APO addresses.

If a gift collection item is out of stock, Weekends Away reserves the right to include a substitute item of equal or greater value.

confirmation
After ordering, you will receive two email confirmations from Weekends Away. First, we will confirm receipt of your order. Then, you will be notified when your order ships.

Weekends Away ships gifts within the U.S. by ground, second-day service, and next-day service using UPS, FedEx, and U.S. Postal Service. Orders received after 12:00 noon (est) will be processed the next business day. We do not process orders on weekends or holidays, and, at this time, we are unable to ship to international addresses, P.O. boxes, APO addresses or US territories.

returns
Weekends Away is happy to replace any gift suitcase damaged during shipment. All returned gift suitcases (entire suitcase with all contents) must be returned in new condition and un-opened packaging. Please call Customer Care at 1-800-741-4911, if you have received a damaged gift suitcase that needs to be returned.
Gift cards are non-returnable and non-refundable.

Each gift comes with a Weekends Away Visa® Gift Card. The gift card is a pre-paid card that can be used at millions of places that accept Visa debit cards. It's like a gift certificate, only better. At this time, gift cards are not sold separately from our gift sets, and are sold in $50, $100, $200, $500, and $1,000 denominations. Greater gift card denominations may be available. Is the Weekends Away Gift Card a credit card?
No. The Weekends Away Gift Card is a prepaid Visa debit card that carries a fixed cash amount determined by the giver at the time of purchase. Each time the card is used, the purchase amount is deducted from the available balance.

Where can the Weekends Away Gift Card be used?
The Weekends Away Gift Card can be used to make purchases at millions of locations, including resorts, bed and breakfasts, that accept Visa debit cards.

Does the gift recipient need to sign an agreement?
Each card is distributed with terms and conditions. This agreement fully explains the rules regarding the use of the card. The Terms and Conditions can also be viewed online. The gift recipient accepts the terms and conditions either by signing the back of the card, using the card, or receiving the card by request.

Will the gift recipient receive a statement?
No. Gift recipients can review their current balance online free of charge through this Web site. In addition, the gift recipient can call the toll-free Weekends Away Cardholder Services number 1-866-462-5972 to receive balance and transaction information.

What happens if I need to return an item purchased with my gift card?
Each merchant location has its own return policies and will handle the returns in the same manner as any other Visa transaction. They may credit your Weekends Away Gift Card, provide a cash refund, or issue a store credit.

What if the purchase is denied?
The card’s available balance is probably less than the purchase amount. You may inform the merchant of the remaining balance on the card and use another form of payment to pay the difference, subject to the policy of the merchant. Also, please be aware that use of the Weekends Away Gift Card at some merchants — for example, restaurants, mail-order companies, and cruise lines — requires the card have an available balance greater than the purchase amount to ensure sufficient funds for tips or incidental expenses. Use of the card at automated fuel dispensers requires a minimum balance of $30. However, only the actual amount spent will be deducted from the card.

Does the Weekends Away Gift Card have an expiration date?
Yes. It expires (at the end of the month) 12 months from the issue date, the date on the face of the debit card.

Can I reload my Weekends Away Gift Card?
No, the card cannot be reloaded.

What happens if there are still funds available when my Weekends Away Gift Card expires?
We encourage you or your recipient to use of the entire gift amount before the card expires. There's a $15 administrative fee to close out the account (or the remaining balance if it's less than $15). Any remaining balance will be returned to the recipient by check within four to six weeks, when requested in writing.

What happens if my Weekends Away Gift Card is lost or stolen?
Through its issuing partner, National City Bank, Weekends Away provides 24-hour toll-free support. Immediately report any problems or a lost or stolen card by calling 1-866-462-5972. You must know your card number. A replacement card will be issued and any available balance (less the replacement card fee – see Terms and Conditions for current fee) will be transferred to the new card. As long as the lost or stolen card is reported immediately, you will not be responsible for any unauthorized merchant charges.

Can the card ever have a negative balance?
Any authorization request that is greater than the card's available balance will be declined. However, there can be times when a Visa merchant puts an item through without prior authorization. If an overdraft occurs, the card recipient will be required to make a payment to National City Cardholder Services to cover the negative amount.

Why are my purchases online (or by telephone) denied when I know the balance is sufficient for my purchase?
It is possible that the address used at the time the card was purchased is different than your current address. Online and telephone purchases require that the "billing address" for your purchase match the address on file for your Weekends Away gift card.
